The EHRG is primarily a scientific research group but has key aim that scientists and carers should exchange information and work together to improve our knowledge of hedgehogs. There are many opportunities for carers to participate in and carry our scientific research of many kinds. Some projects, such as studies of population genetics, may contribute mainly theoretical knowledge, whereas others may aim directly to help improve the way animals are treated, cared for and released to the wild. If you would like printed copies of the abstract booklets of previous proceedings please contact Janet Peto (Membership Secretary who has a few copies) there is a small charge for these. A copy of the membership application form
is attached but please send the completed membership form back by post,
as your signature is required on the form. Membership fees are due
every two years and can be paid in either:
Membership is either postal or by e-mail (paperless*) and includes: · News of all wildlife workshops, symposiums, courses, etc. that to our knowledge are being held. · News of completed research connected to hedgehogs where we are provided with a copy of the published paper. · Problem/assistance helpline – if anyone (scientist/carer) has a problem, contact the membership secretary who will inform the membership who will contact you direct if they can help. · Website – this site is new and under construction but we are hoping to put on copies of all previous EHRG proceedings plus other information which may be useful to members. www.ehrg.org · Newsletter – we are hoping the first of these will be sent out in the late summer/early Autumn of 2002 together with a free printed copy of the abstracts of papers presented at the 5th EHRG Symposium held at Riserva Naturale Orientata di Onferno, Italy on the 5-6 April 2002. · Details of the next meeting – hopefully April 2004 in Munster in Germany. *Note the documents that you will be sent
will be Microsoft Word files.
